203 pages, softcover, reprinted in 1969, signed and inscribed by Chick Evans in 1972. some minor chips to front cover, otherwise in very good condition. Chick Evans was a caddie went on to become one of the stars of his era as an amateur golfer. Born in 1890, he died in 1979. Evans won the U.S. Amateur once and the U.S. Open in 1916. Evans writing style is very good and he has an interesting early historical perspective on the game. The book really shines with the black and white photographs, however, which were taken from Evans personal collection. They include pictures of Harold Hilton, Harry Vardon, Bobby Jones Francis Ouimet and courses such as Merion, Pine Valley and Oakmont. Bookseller Inventory # 000566
