First editioon in English translation. Illustrated softcovers; 439 pp. plus appendices, folding map at rear. Inscribed by the American publisher james H. Uchida on the front free endpaper and additionally signed by him on the Publisher's Note to The American Edition. Translated froim the Japanese by Jean Dan and Ruth Sieben-Morgen and illustrated by Mr. & mrs. Minoru Kuroki. Very good, some spotting to the edges of the text block. Five years after the atom bomb fell on Hirshima, a professor of education at Hiroshima University organized a project to preserve the record of those who had been on the receiving end of the bombing.
