Hardcover, black cloth in non price-clipped dust-jacket. 291pp., Illustrated with photographs. First edition, stated first printing. Memoirs of Frillman's years in China from 1936. A missionary by calling, after the outbreak of war he served as chaplain to the Flying Tigers. After the Tigers were disbanded in mid 1942, Frillman once more served under Chennault, this time as a combat intelligence officier asigned to the 14th Air Force. In addition to his first hand reminisences of the war he never loses sight of his commitment to China and her people, with much on the internal politcal, economic and social instability which eventually led to the Nationalist Chinese defeat at the hands of the communists.
