This two volume set has white cloth boards which are embossed with pastel decorations, enhanced with bright gilt stamped decorations. Bright gilt lettering and decoration on the spines. Top edges gilt. Covers have some light foxing, moreso at extremities. Extremities are dust soiled and/or foxed. Head and feet of spines are slightly bumped. Illustrated endpp. Texts are very clean, embellished with numerous plates, including frontispieces. Bindings are sound and tight. Former owner's name appears in neat black ink in the top left corner on the back of the front free endp. of Vol. II. Publisher's light blue/grey cloth d.j.s have gilt lettering, which is barely legible, and are slightly rubbed at flap fold corners and extremities.
