About this Item

Small folio, 12.5 x 9.75 inches. One of 10 copies on Arches paper with an additional signed illustration, and a suite of the drawings in black (tirage de tête). Total edition of 160; all copies were colored by hand by the artist. Typography with marine ornaments by P. Mersch, L.Seitz & Cie. Three-quarter green morocco, original wrappers preserved, spine tooled in gilt and blind, with fantasy marbled papers, gilt top. Spine faded. Some offsetting from the text pages. Only two copies are listed on OCLC (none in the U.S.). Colucci's successes came in the years after the second world war, with retrospectives in Paris (1955) and New York (1959), with Gino Severini he founded the École d'Art Italien in Paris (1956), however he died poor and forgotten in 1974.
