About this title

The Circle Of Life Alcoholic Recovery Workbook (Revised: July 2011) is a guide for recovery from alcoholism. In our workbook we discuss and work through the 12 Step recovery process. Alcoholism is a disease of the body, mind, and spirit. This is the experience of many of us who are in recovery from alcoholism, our strength is the result of being sponsored through the 12 Steps, and our hope is in recovery from this addiction by emulating the success of those who have gone before us. Those seasoned in recovery. The Circle Of Life was developed to help with the basics of recovery. A strong emphasis is placed on obtaining and utilizing a 12 Step program sponsor. We stress attendance of alcohol addiction support meetings and developing a support system. The intention of this workbook is to aid recovering alcoholics in working through the 12 Steps with a sponsor. This workbook does not address formal religion or dogma. This process of recovery, we believe through our own experience, is spiritual in nature and change through guidance of a Power greater than ourselves becomes the key to recovery. The first three chapters give information on our addiction, seeking help for recovery from alcoholism, the feelings that are associated with coming into sobriety, and withdrawal from active drinking. Chapters four through twelve are dedicated to working the 12 Steps. By utilizing the tools and by working the 12 Steps in this workbook with a sponsor, we believe that it is possible to get and stay sober from drinking by applying the steps we have worked, and by practicing these principles in our life on a daily basis. We have experienced an abundant life and it is available to all of us. Visit our site:

About the Author:

KJ NIVIN (pseudonym) who wishes to remain anonymous has been in recovery for over 27 years. The Alcoholic Recovery Workbook is a standalone workbook for working through the process of the 12 Steps for Alcoholism with a sponsor and by attending recovery meetings for alcohol addiction. Nivin has worked various 12 step programs and has sponsored many recovering alcoholics through the 12 Step process and has worked in the recovery community with their families and friends. He has a vast experiential knowledge of recovery by working for organizations like Father Martin's Ashley Drug and Alcohol Recovery Program, worked with patients outside of the facilities assigned for treatment in the United States Army Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Program, the Navy program, Jail meetings, and by staying sober himself. He is now retired military having traveled the world in recovery and was sober as a soldier in Desert Storm. He has been invited as a speaker to many recovery groups, TV news programs, Universities, and organizations interested in addiction. He began his recovery from alcoholism in August 1983. He worked the steps with a sponsor and then began sponsoring others through the 12 Steps and decided to help others on a greater scale by writing The Circle of Life workbook recovery series. He has adopted the idea: 'Don't let the good get in the way of the best and alcoholics need the best way to stay in recovery.' KJ feels that this is a way he can give back to his community and to mankind. He gives back what was so freely given to him.
