The two posters, 14 X 22 inches, printed on cream colored thin paper with bold, black ink, informs people of Japanese ancestry that they were going to be excluded from: "All of that portion of the City of Los Angeles, State of Cal;ifornia, within that boundary beginning at the point at which North Figueroa Street meetss a line following the middle of the Los Angeles River; thencej southerly and following the said line to East First Street; thence westerly on East First Street to Alameda Street; thjence southern on Alameda Street to East Third Street; thence northwesterly on East Third Street to Main Street; thence northerly on Main Street to First Street; thence northwesterly on First Street to Figueroa Street; thence northeasterly on Figueroa Street to the point of beginning." In the first poster they are told to report to the "Japanese Union Church, 120 North San Pedro Street, Los Angeles, California" on May 4 0r 5, 1942 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. In The second poster tells of the criminal penalties for not reporting. There were 110 different locations in California, Oregon and Washington where people of Japanese decent were told to report and two posters were issued for each place. There were printed in a very small run, with only enough for the posting in each area and two sets of file copies and one set for a California library.
