About the Author: Whitson Gamaliel Waldo, III has a broad background in the semiconductor industry with experience in business operations, volume manufacturing, engineering, and research and development. Whit has worked for Texas Instruments and Motorola and has participated in corporate and university joint ventures with IBM and the University of Wisconsin, respectively. He has experience in program management and engineering management. Whit’s program management experience is in new product introductions. His engineering experience includes device physics and test, applied statistics, photolithography, and reactive ion etch. A Master of Science degree was earned from Clemson University in Chemical Engineering. His undergraduate studies were completed at the University of Florida. George Washington University awarded him a Masters Certificate in Program Management. He earned certification as a Motorola Six Sigma Black Belt for accomplishment in applied statistics. He was recognized by Motorola as a Distinguished Innovator for 13 issued patents. Whit lives with his wife, Cathy, and their two sons in Texas.
