With great assiduousness he decided to delve into the objects an methods of the classical school in a quest for a greater understanding of the subject. As a result, several years later, his first book - A Classical Riding Notebook - came into being. Michael regularly schools a variety of horses and teaches private students. He admits to having a taste for competition and is at his happiest when riding in an arena, trying to improve a horse's way of going. He trained his own lippizaner gelding to advanced level.
