Stated 1st. Edition, very good in orange pictorial Borzoi boards. Very light faded spine, corner bump, page between front free endpaper and title page has stamp showing previous owners name and address and is loose from binding, Pre title page has a bookplate with the same owners name and some notes indicting the a first edition and copyright date. Endpapers are illustrated, binding is firm and tight, pages clean and bright. This is not an ex-library and has only the one prior owner. The dust jacket is not the original but except for some small chips at the spine top end is in almost new condition in a brodart cover. Price indicated is $3.00. Freddy the pig and the other animals rescue a boy named Adoniram Smith from a flood and from his wicked Aunt and Uncle, in that order. When the animals realize that he is lonely, they ask Mr. Bean's inventor uncle, Benjamin Bean, to build another boy out of wood. The result is an amazingly lifelike, and powered by a clockwork , is able to do many of the things a normal boy would do. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 001578
