The introduction is written in a light, entertaining tone, presenting the reader the culture of cocktail-drinking in bars, the organization of home bars, various alcoholic beverages, etc. The text is accompanied with fashionable black and white illustrations and full-page colour images of various cocktails. It was only after World War II, that most of the Europeans, including Germans, had a chance to start consuming fancy spirits and cocktails and much information, presented in this book were considered a novelty.
