480pp. Maroon cloth (largely brownish effect with sunning) with bright gilt-stamped playright's name on front cover and on spine, along with title and 'Scribners' at bottom of spine, all lettering easily readable; sunned spine and along spine and foreedge of front cover, as across top of front cover; lightly faded along spine of rear cover, but barely across top rear cover; some wear across spine ends with 1/32" of much of top spine missing, as 1/8" x 1/2" along lower edge of spine; some miscellaneous staining on spine, which is nearly completely negated by the sunning; the textblock is solid, unmarked, spine tight, corners with tiniest of tip wear, not bumped, sharp. Translated by and Introduction by William Archer, also editor of the 11 volume set of Ibsen's works. Previous owner's name and '1981' discreetly at top right corner of ffep.
