Book Description Talbot Press, Dublin, 1922. Hard Cover. Book Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. Later Printing.. Poet, educator, and patriot Pearse was one of the leaders of the Easter Uprising of 1916. After his death several different publishers printed his Collected Works in similar formats. This is the offering by Talbot Press, more uncommon than others. No publication date; Quercus arbitrarilly assigns it to 1922, mid-way between the editions from Maunsel and Phoenix, and assumes it to be a Later Printing. Although this is an ex-libris book it is in Near Fine condition and remains attractive. Rather minimal intrusions: faded spot on spine where number was at one time; rear FEP and the pastedown contain pocket, withdrawal stamp, bookstore stamp, some penciled notes. Despite these treatments, this is a nice copy of a work usually found in disrepair. The green cloth binding is sound, clean, and bright; gilt spine lettering is still bright. Text is clean and fresh, with none of the foxing commonly found, perhaps due to the use of a better quality paper. 341 pages and an eight-page Appendix. Contemporary ownership signature on the FFEP. Minimal restoration work would produce a gem. No dustwrapper. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 001460
