The first volume opens with Jung's dissertation for the medical degree: "On the Psychology and Pathology of So-called Occult Phenomena", a study that foreshadows much of his later work. The detailed analysis of the case of an hysterical adolescent girl who professed to be a medium. This volume also includes papers on cryptomnesia, hysterical paraproxes in reading, manic mood disorder, simulated insanity, et al. Vol 3: The Psychogenesis of Mental Disease Vol 4: Freud and Psychoanalysis Vol 5: Symbols of Transformation. In 1912 June published the original version of this work which marked his divergence from the psychoanalytical school of Freud.
