About this Item

Fascinating, thorough dcoumentation of dolls and their costumes between 1700 and 1929. Highly pictorialized with multiple photos, both colored and B&W on every page. The DJ was covered with mylar while almost new, it was secured with 5 little pieces of Scotch tape which have left yellow marks Another small piece of tape was applied to the RH top and bottom spine, which had 2 tiny tears. There are no other tears or shelfwear to the DJ, and the mylar has been replaced with a new Brodart protector. The text is clean and the white cloth cover has one little tape stain from the old plastic cover. There is also some foxing on the top of the text block, which occurs nowhere else in the book. The pages are not yellowed. Secured to the FFEP is a piece of paper which states: "It is with great pleasure we present one of the first copies of THE COLLECTOR'S BOOK OF DOLLS' CLOTHES costumes in Miniature 1700 - 1929 by Dorothy S., Elizabeth A., and Evelyn J. Coleman." "We know that you will find this book of immense value and indisipensible for identifying original clothes, for dating unmarked dolls according to the original clothes, for learning about costumes and accessories." The note is personally signed byDorothy S. Coleman. This 793 book, which includes a glossary, index, and many patterns for making period doll clothes, is too large for flate rate overseas shipping and will require extra postage for mailing outside of the U. S. Bookseller Inventory # 001858
