After the French defeat in 1954 he worked for a democratic government. However, by then the Communist system set up by Ho Chi Minh and aided by Mai Tse-tung was fully set. After going through a re-eduation course the author fled the country. Very good copy of the first edition in a good dust jacket. The dust jacket has some edge wear and a sun stained spine.
