About this Item

8vo. Yellow cloth. xxxvi, 504pp. Illustrations, maps, map endpapers. Very good/very good. Revised edition of this WPA guide, a mild ex-library copy with very few markings -- plus a nice autograph addition: Tipped to the front flyleaf is a Typed Note Signed from Hansen, 1p, heavy stock 5" X 3¼" card, New York, NY, 1963 January 3. Addressed to noted Lincoln and Civil War scholar Arnold Gates. Fine. On a correspondence card of "The World Almanac," where Hansen served as editor, he regrets he cannot attend a New York Civil War Round Table meeting. "You might tell them that I think the Gettysburg trip comes too soon after our earlier one," he adds. "There is nothing they can show us that most of us haven't seen. Personally I'm going to Chickamauga and Shiloh.". Bookseller Inventory # 16324
