Synopsis: OVER 100,000 COPIES OF MATT'S FIRST VERSION OF COMBAT CONDITIONING HAVE BEEN SOLD THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. MARTIAL ARTS MASTER AND FITNESS TRAINER MATT FUREY TAKES THE NEXT STEP IN UNDERSTANDING CONDITIONING AND INSTRUCTION OF A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE with his newest edition of COMBAT CONDITIONING, now in a cartoon like format. This workout book is for anyone that wants to improve upon his or her current level of fitness and health. Devote 15 minutes each day to the exercises contained in this book and each week you'll see improvements. Whether you are acting on your goals to get back in shape or you are a combat athlete who wants to improve their performance, COMBAT CONDITIONING is the resource you have been looking for.

Written by martial arts master and world renowned trainer Matt Furey, COMBAT CONDITIONING provides step-by-step instruction with illustrated drawings of over 50 different exercises. Furey explains how to do each exercise correctly, and what to look for when you are doing an exercise to feel if it is being done properly. When you exercise, think of training everything from the inside out, comments Furey. He takes great pride in presenting the most important exercises, what he refers to as the Royal Court; Hindu Squats, Hindu Pushups and the back bridge. He recommends that individuals start with these three exercises for the first month and then add to this base.

Following the thorough explanation of each of the exercises, Furey provides several different fitness plans that can be started at various levels of achievement. He also incorporates simple fitness regimes that can be done anywhere, you do not have to have a fancy gym membership or luxury equipment. Furey ends the book with a list of the most commonly asked questions and answers.

About the Author: Matt Furey started training his body to achieve maximum results when he was just a teenager in Carroll, Iowa. At that time he began training three days a week to get in condition for combat sports such as football and wrestling. Throughout his high school and collegiate wrestling career Furey recognized that weight training did not give him functional strength or endurance. He found that exercises without weights were better than anything else he was doing. Often referred to as calisthenics, his teammates belittled these efforts stating that they were outdated until he started winning wrestling titles.

Furey began studying various martial arts in 1990 and immediately saw the physical, mental and philosophical links these arts had with wrestling and penned his first book, The Martial Art of Wrestling. In 1999, Furey befriended 1948 Olympian Karl Gotch,, known as The God of Wrestling in Japan, who showed him that in spite of a national and world title in wrestling, in terms of conditioning, Furey had a long way to go. He credits Gotch for teaching him the fine art of conditioning and dedicates the book to him.

Furey wrote two additional books called Combat Abs and Gama Fitness along with other supportive materials and DVDs. Furey writes monthly columns for Inside Kung Fu and Karate (Japan). He has been featured in GQ, Black Belt, Grappling, Martial Arts & Combat Sports, Blitz, Martial Arts Illustrated and many other publications throughout the world. Matt and his family travel back and forth between their homes in Florida and Hainan Island, China.
