About this Item

viii + 254 p. Se concluyo la impresion de mil seiscientos ejemplares de este volumen en la imprenta americana, de la cuidad de lima, a los veinte dias del mes de abril de mil novecientos veinticuatro. This is Volume I (only) of the comedies of the Peruvian writer (1805-1871). An elegy by Luis Alberto Sanchez prefaces the book. Segura welcomed democracy after its independence from Spain in 1871, and was popular in his country. The oldest theater in South America, in Lima, was renamed in his honor in 1924. This is a pretty little volume (7" x 5") probably bound for a collector, with marbled boards and red half-leather with gilt title and bands on spine; the title page of the original publication is illustrated and printed in red and black. In Spanish. Very, very good condition with some light rubbing to edges. Bookseller Inventory # 111610MS

We concentrate on nonfiction, particularly history, and in books of a local or regional nature--city, county, state histories, for instance, and histories of movements, institutions, churches, organizations, and people particular to those places. We have family histories, historical or regional fiction, children's books, cook books, and interesting books on the arts, antiques, and useful crafts. We have a small selection of fiction, many biographies and autobiographies, some prints and posters, drawers full of ephemera on the above topics.
