Preface by Thomas Hood the Younger. Some wonderful witty verse, from an author who is extremely astute at identifying and summing up characters. Great book. Condition: Spine darkened with age. Tear top of spine, top edge missing. Wear base of spine. Wear on corners, boards showing slightly. General age discolouration marks front and back. See my pic. o/p owner name top right corner dated 1874. Last page of Moxon listings tanned + half title page, which is also cracking from top to centre. Sporadic foxing throughout, text clear, little wear, binding firm. Good minus condition.
