Schroeder Publications, VA. The 9th Vermont was organized in July 1862. They were captured at Harpers Ferry in Spetember 1862. They paroled and sent to Camp Douglas in Chicago. After being paroled they fought in North Carolina, Petersburg and Richmond. Members of the unit marched among the first troops that entered the Confederate capital.
