Command Performance was a radio aired over the Armed Forces Radio Network with a direct shortwave transmission to WWII troops over seas. It ran between 1942 and 1949 and was not broadcast in the U.S. The casts and crews did not charge for their services. 20 toned mimeographed sheets (8 1/2 x 11) bound with 3 staples. Cover sheet (1st sheet) reads at the top "COMMAND PERFORMANCE, U.S.A. -- CLARK GABLE, M.C." Below that: VINE STREET THEATRE CBS, TUESDAY, AUGUST 4, 1942, 8:00 - 8:30 P.M., PWT., #25, NATHANIEL FINKSTON, CONDUCTOR. Next is the distribution list which includes Clark Gable, Cass Daly, Jerry Colonna, the Count Basie Orch., Bette Davis, Dinah Shore, Nathaniel Finston, Don Wilson, Glenn Wheaton plus the technicians and army personnel involved. Last is The Routine, listing the sequence of the acts. Near the top of the page, hand printed in red pencil, is "Colonel Ned Julian Page 3." On Page 3 is a short thank you note from Glenn Wheaton. Included with the script is a black and white photograph of Bette Davis, Dinah Shore and Col. Ned (Allen P.) Julian taken backstage that night, an 8 x 10 that has been roughly trimmed to 7 3/4 x 9 3/4 and is protected between 2 sheets of 8 x 10 acid free foamcore. Bookseller Inventory # 000511
