279p. No additional printings noted. Clear plastic glued over the jacket as protection against chipping. Jacket has yellowed, back panel shows some staining, and there are a few tiny chips in the edges. Cloth over boards very lightly rubbed. Gift note on front pastedown endpaper. Endpapers slightly yellowed, but main pages are clean and bright. The binding is sound. From the jacket: 'Searching through ancient boxes, [Chesterton's] literary executor has found a great mass of writings which were not included in any of his books of collected essays and most of which have never appeared in America at all.
