First trade edition. 10.5" x 8", 166 (1) pp, with 25 tipped-in color plates mounted on green paper with captioned tissue guards. Bound in publisher's green cloth with gilt decoration, illustrated endpapers. Rubbing to extremities, small tear in cloth at head of spine, else sound and clean. James Henry Thorpe (1876-1949) was a member of the London Sketch Club and a regular contributor of cartoons to Punch magazine. Seller Inventory # 23291
