About this Item

A clean, tight copy of the reprint of the edition edited by John Major of 1889. The text block is lovely. This copy comes from a private library and is stamped in red on the inside of the front and back cover and the verso of the ffep. Since the library was non-circulating, there are no other library markings, The brodarted, apparently price-clipped dj is chipped in several places, most noticeably at the top and bottom of the spine, where at the top the "The" of the title has been lost; these chips extend about a half an inch onto the front and back. The base of the spine has lost about a quarter of an inch but the damage has gone about an inch and a half in the front and has caused tears and holes both front and back. The four corners are badly chipped, especially the back bottom, which has lost three and a half inches along the crease of the flap. The brodart will protect and hold the remains of the dj and since this includes the wonderful front and back cover and its illustration along with most of the printing, this copy is really quite a nice one.
