Title Page is worded "The Complete Poetry of Gaius Catullus translated by Jack Lindsay with decorations engraved on wood by Lionel Ellis and an essay by the translator about Catullus Clodia and their circle including a full version of Cicero's speech for Caelius and numerous contemporary verses now published by the Fanfrolico Press of London two thousand and thirteen years after the birth of the poet". This is hand-numbered No. 84 and signed by the Translator John Lindsay on the last page. Bound in brown leather with gilt title on thes pine, some scuffing, some wear at spine foot and corners, an ink stain on the back, but remaining strong neat and robust. Hinge and text-block tight, book square. Paged edges darkened. Neat ink inscription inside the front. Some light pencilled notes on the back page. A front end paper may be absent. Pages smooth and clean, very little spotting, with several lovely illustrations within text. A very sound neat and handsome book. May incur additional postage charges overseas. N/D (ca. 1929); Number 209 of a limited edition; Full leather covers with gilt lettering; Top edge gilt and others are uncut; This volume has been exposed to a heat source causing some damage, though there is NO smoke or other oder; Spine covers are darkened with a small black spot near rear head of spine; This spot barely touches gilt lettering, though lettering remains bright and intact; There is some darkening along top edge of covers, as well as edges of text; There is a small (half inch circluar) burned spot at top edge of front cover near outside edge; There is a little general light rubbing along edges; This volume remains tight; Internally, there are a few very light smudges, and there is a small and very light moisture stain on the blank front end page; End pages show some darking along edges about 1/8th inch in, though other leaves show darkening only on very edge; Contents are otherwise clean and intact; Volume is much nice than it sounds. Exposed untrimmed page edges toned, two small, old and faint stains from tape at front and rear end-papers, small bookseller's ticket at rear pastedown, very minor edgewear to the attractive and well-preserved binding; altogether a clean, tight, better than very good copy in archival mylar.
