About this Item

31cm. 30p, 44 plates. 31cm. Loose plates housed in cloth backed portfolio with paper boards, titling in green on the front and spine; ribbon ties. Text in English and French. Spine titling rubbed, covers slightly soiled; edges toned. In very good condition. Haffner (1885-1961), was a graduate of the Beaux Arts and professor of architecture at Harvard University. Haffner states that his compositions "belong to the present era of architecture, to the period of today, to that which characterizes best our habits, our moods, our ways of living. Call it modern or any other name , it is of no consequence. Created by our century, created through new materials, presenting new forms, this era requires also its new design of gardens, as it already has adopted new designs for all the industrial and applied arts.".
