Synopsis: Demonstrates the many uses of computers in the home, at school, in business, and in science.
From School Library Journal:
Grade 5-6 Brief descriptions of types of computers, how computers work and the different uses of computers. The diagrams and the full-color photographs (predominately corporate advertising photos) are beautifully reproduced, but the text, which seems to have been written to match the available pictures, is so sparse that readers are left knowing very little about any one subject. There is a definite lack of minority group representation in the many pictures of computer workers and happy families using their computers, although there is a good mixture of both sexes. The technical vocabulary is such that the book would be useful to upper-level elementary school students, who might reject it at first glance because of the large print. There is a brief glossary of computer terms but no pronunciation guide. EFB
