Title: Conquering the Valley: Stonewall Jackson at ...
Publisher: William Morrow and Company, New York
Publication Date: 1996
Dust Jacket Condition: Dust Jacket Included
Edition: 1st Edition
Small 4to. Black paper over boards, pictorial dust jacket. xi, 594pp. Illustrations, maps, 5 loose maps and explanatory slip laid in. Fine/fine. Tight, handsome copy -- one of the rare instances when the book club edition may be preferred over the trade edition, for according to a small printed note laid in together with the five loose maps in the book club edition, "Due to publisher error, there are five incomplete maps in this book. The maps as they appear are accurate, but are missing text identifications. The publisher is not reprinting the books to correct these ommissions. Because we did not want this worthy book -- and its readers -- to suffer these errors, we decided to print, on our own, the completed maps." Hence only the book club edition includes the corrected maps -- putting it one-up on the first edition. Copies of these book club edition extras are provided with this first edition, though -- best of both worlds. Bookseller Inventory # 20279
