About this Item

This is a large 8vo - 6 inches by 9 inches and 2-1/2 inches thick. Bound by Bayntun of Bath in 3/4 dark blue morocco leather with gilt ruled blue cloth covers. The 6 compartment spine has still bright gilt lettering and decorations. There is slight cracking to the ends of the hinges but the covers are very clean, bright and tightly attached. There is about one inch of shallow chipping to the top of the spine, and some rubbing to the corners. Pagination: ix, preface; 45 pages of introduction; vi (unnumbered) pages of original 1590 introduction and 360 leaves (720 pages) of the main text. The pages are a better quality paper with untrimmed edges. The pages are very clean, are still crisp and are tightly bound. This is Number 238 of 300 copies. There are no ownership inscriptions or bookplates. A very presentable book. Postage to foreign countries will be expensive due to the book's thickness and weight. Bookseller Inventory # 9882
