Green cloth boards have bumped corners, scuffing on the edges light fraying at the head and foot of the spine. There is a water stain that is faintly visible on the cover and lightly stains the lower left quarter of pages through about page 80. There is some light foxing, mostly on the end papers and the edges of te pages are tanned. The text block is tight, thought the front gutter is slightly cracked. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 299, contents pages; Rebecca Latimer Felton was the wife of Bartow Co. , GA politician W. H. Felton. She was a writer, lecturer, and reformer with special interest in agricultural and women’s issues; she served as secretary to her husband while he was a Member of Congress 1875-1881; she was appointed by the Governor as a Democrat to the United States Senate on October 3, 1922, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Thomas E. Watson; took the oath of office on November 21, 1922, and then served just twenty-four hours, from November 21 to 22, 1922, as a successor had already ben elected.
