About this Item

First printing. Octavo in tan buckram, red leather spine label lettered in gilt; 233 pps. Montclair, New Jersey lawyer and legal author compares the legal systems and procedures of New Jersey and England, also drawing in the systems of Massachusetts and other New England states. The first five chapters were originally printed (and are here slightly revised) in the New Jersey Law Journal between 1902 and 1905; other sections and the appendix appear here for the first time. An obscure work from an obscure Newark, NJ publisher, just the thing for legal eagles and Jerseyana collectors. Tight, two small chips to the spine label, light edge tidemarking to the endpapers; prev. own. stamp front endpapers and again on pps.78 and 79. Bookseller Inventory # D6864
