The short 1903 novel by Anatole France is presented in a handsome illustrated Heritage Press edition in slipcase. This is the story of a poor Parisian seller of vegetables who gets dragged through the French judicial system. Newly translated, with an introduction, by Jacques LeClercq and illustrations by Bernard Lamotte. Sandglass leaflet laid in (NY, no.
