Synopsis: Symposium 12 Latest developments in survey theory and practice are presented in 59 papers that address roving creel, access point, telephone, mail, and other types of surveys. Emphasis on proper application of surveys to estimate biological and economic attributes of fisheries and to obtain social profiles of anglers. This book is intended for agency survey managers, managers of recreational fisheries, data acquisition and ananlytical staff, professors, students, biologists, economists, sociologists, and consultants.
Review: It is clear to me that the various authors have put considerable thought into their studies and into the final presentation, which is consistently lucid. Figures and tables are, in the main, clear and useful, and present in great profusion (153 figures and 165 tables). There are also 23 appendices detailing some of the more tedious computations and derivations, and displaying questionnaire forms and the like....I commend this book to all who registered even a spark of interest on reading the title. -- Reviews in Fish Biology and Fisheries, 1991
