Spiral-bound notebook, with images of creepy dolls collaged over heavy boards (inside and out) and completely covered with clear tape, 152 x 215 mm; yellow placeholder ribbon wrapped around spirals, with a little plastic baby doll tied at the end; contains about 100 lined pages, with images (cut from magazines or printed from photos and the internet with a basic desktop printer) of creepy dolls glued or taped on rectos and versos throughout, plus text, some of which is cut from magazines and internet, some of which is handwritten in ink. Likely the work of a teenage girl (judging from the content and penmanship), this volume offers a motley collection of weird dolls -- a spectrum of goth dolls designed with the intent of being off-kilter, to unintentionally weird kewpie dolls, Barbies, Cabbage Patch, Trolls, "corn dollies," "waxen effigies" (our compiler sometimes categorizes), antique dolls, and more. The text is comprised of song lyrics (she quotes "Where Angels Fall" by Terminal Sect, an industrial band from the early 1990s), her own musings ("The Home Shopping Network's Gallery of Dolls is an infomercial for Freud's uncanny, transfixing the unsuspecting grazer with misbegotten moppets like little Ginny, her bovine eyes flesh-crawlingly lifelike."), and descriptions of specific dolls ("Corn Dolly: A type of ritual doll, or variation of a poppet, used in traditional European seasonal rites for fertility of the land").
