About this Item

Original wraps. 48 pages. With a few photos and illustrations. A noted and influential journal featuring stories, poetry and articles for and about African Americans. Edited by W.E.B. Du Bois. This one features a lengthy opinion column by Du Bois, in which he recounts his 7000 mile lecture circuit, as well as his views that slavery still exists in the United States, but is conducted through the courts, as well as his thoughts on lynching, etc. In POOR/FAIR condition. MISSING the outer wraps, with pages 1 and 48 barely attached to the rest of the block. These two pages are tattered and torn along the binding edge, with very heavy tearing, chipping, wrinkling, creasing and loss to pages 46-48 along that edge. These pages consist of ads. Minor to moderate browning to the pages with mostly minor scattered soiling throughout, heavier to the first and last page. A few faint drip dampstains at the upper edge of the first page and one page in the interior. Overall a somewhat fragile piece. Bookseller Inventory # 003876
