Title: Cross Trails
Publisher: L. C. Page and Company, Boston
Publication Date: 1898
Book Condition: Very Good
Edition: x First American Edition
456 pages plus an eight-page publisher's catalog. A novel by a Scottish baronet who lived for some time in New Zealand, where this novel is largely set. A contemporary review (in The Literary Review) described the book thus: 'Cross Trails is meat for strong men, not milk for babes. Much of it is shocking; from much of it we revolt, so cruel, so lustful, so evil is the style life depicted.' Uncommon. First American edition (first printing). The spine is slightly tanned and there is light rubbing to the decorative front cover. There are several ownership stamps on the front free endpaper, but this is an attractive copy of a scarce book.
