About this title

From the Back Cover:

This fast-paced adventure is the story of Roberto Mirandez, a Harvard-educated Cuban exile who is captured during the debacle at the Bay of Pigs. Two years later, he is released from Cuba's infamous Modelo Prison and informed that Fidel Castro has chosen him for a special mission. During his imprisonment, Robert had bitterly complained about America's failure to support the exile troops during their ill-fated invasion. Now Cuban intelligence, believing that Roberto has converted to their cause, orders him to spy on the expatriate community in Florida. As a reward for his undercover work, Castro will guarantee the freedom of Roberto's mother and children, who are being held hostage in Cuba.

Roberto gets a job at the Cuban Refugee Center in Miami, where he falls in love with an American Red Cross worker. His conscience torments him as he walks a tightrope: spying on the United States and his fellow countrymen while trying to stay one step ahead of Cuban intelligence. As a complex plot develops, Roberto races to outwit Castro's murderous agents and is threatened by a ruthless Tong of Chinese women.

Moving through exotic locales and the shadowy world of international espionage, "Cuban Spy" is a strikingly authentic tale of intrigue and adventure.
