About the Author:

The Author is Italian-American decent born and raised in New York City and passionate about the City that her Grandparents chose in the 20th Century, her Father following soon after. The experience of these Immigrants that came to the Golden Shores of America is one of sacrifice, bravery, a wish to become part of what is now Americana! She absorbed the caring, warmth, love, compassion, humor, joy that is part of the Italian people. These early years of Concetta known to her little friends as "Cungie" reflects the memories of those days on 33rd Street and First Avenue in Manhattan; vibrant, colorful, dangerous, crowded streets overflowing with kids, vendors, mothers, babies, Irish cops on the shore of the East River.
