The covers are very unevenly faded and spotted, endpapers foxed, good hinges, age-toned but clean pages free from names or other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is also unevenly faded and has small chips to the spine ends, soil to the rear panel, front illustration very good, fairly little paper loss overall. Relatively sophisticated and wryly humorous verses about various small animals, insects and even fish - such as the Courteous Carp, the Venomous Wasp, the Guileful Guinea-Pig, the Squabbling Squirrels, the Blind Bat, the Earnest Earwig, etc., illustrated with black and white line drawings throughout, plus a color frontis. . Hard Cover. Good/Good. 8vo - over 7�" - 9�" tall.
