About the Author:

FRAN MARTIN was born in Bridgeport Connecticut. She is a graduate of the University of Oregon, with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Education and Community Health. Continued education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Virginia Commonwealth University, and endorsement in Special Education L.D. from Longwood University. She has been a teacher for 18 years. Fran has two sons, Richard and Christopher and one grandchild, Preston. After raising and training Smithfield, the original painting pig, she went on to train a llama and camel.
