The author was a most unusual woman. She learned to fly at the Wright School, Mineola, NY, in 1916. She is credited with being the first woman to ride a motorcycle as well as one of the first to navigate a plane. She was a painter, sculptress, writer, and one of the country's best known bridge players. She died in Cairo, Egypt, in 1960. I believe the book is autographed by Dorothy, the author. There is an inscription in pencil on the front fly leaf which reads: To Scotty, who Hal won't let me be tough with because he's an Alabama boy. Dorothy. 203 pages. First edition.
