Bound in early drab paper boards over half dark blue roan leather, leather label, gilt title, uncut pages, leaves measuring 11" x 8 3/4". 376 pages, w/ extensive Notes at rear. First Edition of this long poem from Hindue mythology. Provenance: This was the copy of Sir Michael Sadler, with his Oxford bookplate. Sadler (1861-1943) was an educational pioneer and art patron who, form 1923 on, was Master of University College, Oxford.
