Synopsis: Cursive Connections-Modern uniquely emphasizes letter connections, the most difficult aspect of learning cursive handwriting. New letters are briefly introduced, and then paired with previously learned letters, beginning with vowels. Practice becomes increasingly complex, progressing to usage of the letter in words, phrases, and ultimately sentences. Mastery with fluency and precision is the outcome! The alphabet style in Cursive Connections-Modern is similar to the extensively used style taught in public schools. (It is tailored, and lacks decorative looping.) The 80 page 8.5" x 11" workbook is most appropriate for 3rd Graders as beginning instruction, or for older students as a fluency building tool. All practice is modeled for students; they copy below the example, allowing independence once correct letter construction is established. This is a combined workbook and guide.
Cursive Connection is extensively used by homeschool families. The practice method is reminiscent of the days when handwriting was a priority.
From the Publisher: Mary Pride, editor of "Practical Homeschooling" magazine gave Cursive Connections a top rating of 5 hearts. Dan Hammes at homeschoolcentral.com, and Catherine Levison, authority on Charlotte, both endorse Cursive Connections.
