Publisher's original brown cloth, blind-stamped with decorative floral patterns on the front and rear board, the spine is lettered in gilt with horizontal fillets in blind, lg 8vo (9.75 x 6.35 inches). This volume was issued as a supplemental volume to the Botanical Magazine. It presents 100 detailed biographies and portraits of noted authorities who have had been singled out for the honor of having a volume of the Curtis's annual botanical magazine dedicated to them from 1827 to 1927. All of these authorities had been so honored due to their love of plants. This work has become an indispensable reference source. Small (one-inch square) bookplate of the late George H.
