495 g.; XIV, 306 pages, preface by author, appendix, bibliography, notes and index. Light blue coloured boards with gilt titles to the backstrip. Bumping to the head and to the heel of the backstrip and rubbing to be book corners. Shelf wear to be lower book edges. Light browning and some stains to the text block edges. Very light browning and faint foxing to the endpapers. Previous owner's name to the top right-hand corner of the free front endpaper and original bookseller's stand to the lower right-hand corner of the same page. Illustrated dustwrapper with red background and white and black titles to the front panel and backstrip. Rubbing and chipping to the book corners and to the backstrip edges. A small tear to the top edge of the rear dustwrapper panel with associated creasing, and there are two small tears to the lower dustwrapper edge, again with associated creasing. Rubbing and abrading of the dustwrapper panels and there are scores to the laminate. Browning of the verse of the dustwrapper. There are creases that run the full length of the front fold over panel and there is clipping, front fold over, lower right-hand corner. " If the Western world is to be effective in its efforts to bring lasting benefits as well as in the relief to underprivileged countries, a much more determined attempt must be made to understand that customs and culture of the areas to which such help is being offered. (Eris now stays at home guarding our brass bed, and doing the occasional rounds of the kitchen.) 2 shop locations (his and hers). It keeps him out of her hair which is proudly gray, (and she complains to her hairdresser that it's not going white quickly enough!) Stock in excess of 220,000 books (slowly putting them onto computer ) ( about 34,000 so far) About 40% of our stock is hard-cover, and of these OVER 80% are first editions. He gets grumpier as he gets older, and spends most of his time at his shop at 668 Glen Huntly Road, Caulfield Sth (route 67 tram); 9523 6686 or 0419 330 268 (Between Kooyong and Hawthorn Roads )( open 11.00 am until 5.00pm ish daily, but usually Thursdays) She's the most tolerant person he knows. ( She also has an incredible memory for trivia, true crime and other useless stuff ( like where is his only tie) ) and looks after the Cats, and runs the Chapel Street store. All books that we have, that have a dust wrapper or parts thereof, are covered with a clear, glossy, non adhesive library quality wrapper, or a backed sleeve if there is severe damage. We do NOT attempt to repair any books with tape of any type or glues. ( unless we give it to our friendly bookbinder Peter Zerbe ( boundwords@labyrinth.net.au ) Postage from Australia can often cost more than the cost of the book!
