About this title

At dawn on Winter Solstice, Juan and Sophia again see into the past through the square hole in the mysterious silver medallion. This time they witness a small band of travelers coming upon the body of a child in the desert. The twin’s 100-year-old great grandfather explains that Adzul’s grandson Cuto, the next heir of the medallion, was leading a group of Aztec adventurers north to seek a new life in Santa Fe. After establishing friendly relations with the local Pueblo Indians, Cuto’s life is turned upside down when he encounters the sadistic Lt. Marquez. Forced to turn away from peaceful endeavors, the Aztecs must now engage in a desperate struggle to survive.

About the Author:

For 40 years, David Sage has captivated audiences with original stories told in the oral tradition. Each story is created extemporaneously, and draws on his knowledge and a wide range of experiences gained in traveling the world. His vivid imagination often takes an historical event as a launching point for fictional adventures. Known as “Mr. Sage” by thousands of kids around the USA, he spins tales to people from 5 to 75. He has also developed a successful school curriculum, using his stories, which stimulates imagination and creativity in students. For years, he has been asked to convert his narratives into books. The Heirs of the Medallion series is the first of many such epics to be adapted to written form. Mr. Sage makes his home in Story, Wyoming, not far from the ranch where he grew up.
