Item description from seller

11 lines in black ink on first side only of 4pp 8vo, integral address leaf. Postmarks. v.g. A short note to Dilke, in his capacity as editor of The Athenaeum, desiring the return of some soon-to-be-published verses 'for correction'. Lamb ensures Dilke that he 'shall have them back without delay' should he desire it. Lamb had met Stothard at Rogers', and evidently impressed with his illustrations to Rogers' Poems, addressed a few poetic lines to him that would appear in The Athenaeum on 21st December 1833. In the Complete Letters (ed. by E.V. Lucas), vol. III, p. 393, giving the date as 'middle December 1833'. PLEASE NOTE: For customers within the UK this item is subject to VAT at 20%.
