Updike at the Merrymount Press. Boston. December, 1903. 8.75 x 14". One of the few books printed in the Merrymount type. 25 crisp black & white illustrations by E. Burne-Jones throughout. In VERY GOOD+ condition, very tight binding. Mild wear to spine tips and corners and edges have a few small marks. Covers have mild rubbing with few marks. "Designs for the Book of Genesis, now for the first time reproduced in the U.S. are part of a project for the illustration of a large quarto 'Biblia Innocentium' which was to have been published by the by Kelmscott Press." Book from the collection of William A. Kettridge with bookplate on left endpaper and info on top of right endpaper dated 1919. Kettridge was the author of the famous book, Hole in the Sky: A Memoir. He was also co-producer of the movie, A River Runs through It. Very tight and solid copy in exceptional condition after 110 years!!. Bookseller Inventory # 005828
