About this title

It’s the 1960s. Jessie Smith has always dreamed of traveling. Her adventures take her to San Francisco where the Beatles have “invaded” and civil rights are front page news. Jessie loves her new home in the City by the Bay and has the dream of finding true love there. But everything is not as perfect as it seems. The Zodiac Killer is on the loose, and there’s another villain closer to home. The Wrapper Rapist has attacked numerous women and laughingly eluded the police. Now, Jessie is his target and it seems he will not stop until she becomes his next victim. Time is running out. The number of attacks is growing. Will Jessie suffer the same fate as the other victims, or will Detective Joe Anthony be able to catch her attacker before tragedy strikes again? Jessie finds inspiration from St. Jude, the patron saint of desperate cases and lost causes, and from the lyrics of the Beatles’ newest song. Can she and Joe beat the odds stacked against them and find the true love her heart has always longed for?

About the Author:

Jeanne worked for years as a successful attorney, practicing Dependency Law in California, where she represented both children and parents in a very emotional section of the law. While she loved her work as an attorney, she finally left the legal field to pursue her love of writing, a dream inspired from her great third grade teacher back home in Collinsville, Illinois. "She told me I created pictures with my words,” Jeanne says. “And so, I was on my way to becoming a writer, after making a few life stops along the way.” Jeanne participated in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) in November, 2012, and was a winner, completing the beginning of DEAR JUDE. Although she has her roots in the Midwest, Jeanne says the “Wild West” beckoned her, so she followed the call, living in San Francisco for a time before settling in its suburbs with her husband Jim and their three children. “I am currently working on a new novel that I began while cruising through the Panama Canal. Stay tuned!”
